Meet Executive Chef Mercedes C. Topacio.
Chef Mercedes has always had a passion for cooking. In 2003, she decided to pursue cooking as a career and graduated with honors from the Art Institute of California’s Culinary Arts Program in 2006. Afterwards, she interned at a local San Diego restaurant where she learned how to prepare meals in a professional kitchen.
Although Chef Mercedes was presented with many opportunities to advance her culinary career, she ultimately chose Oakmont of Escondido Hills because she values Oakmont’s commitment to cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients that are both healthy and enjoyable for our residents and guests.
